Florida patients are now eligible to receive a medical marijuana recommendation for a growing list of conditions as determined by their physician. CONDITIONS THAT QUALIFY
According to Senate Bill 8A, the following conditions qualify for medical marijuana treatment:
- ALS (Lou Gehrig’s)
- Cancer
- Crohn’s Disease
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- HIV/AIDS
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Terminal Conditions *
- Chronic Nonmalignant Pain **
* Diagnosed by a physician other than the certifying physician
** Pain that is caused by or that originates from a qualifying medical condition and persists beyond the usual course of that condition
CONDITIONS THAT COULD QUALIFY
Although the following conditions are not specifically outlined by Senate Bill 8A, Florida law allows physicians to recommend medical cannabis for “diagnosable, debilitating conditions of a like, kind or class.” Additional conditions may include:
